Our Hot Vinyasa Flow is a Power Vinyasa class inspired by the Baptiste Power Vinyasa Yoga method and we believe it’s the best in all of Chicago. Our classes offer an energetic and integrated combination of rigorous vinyasa, pranayama, and contemporized yogic principles & philosophy designed to invite and guide student yogis into a courageous journey into their physical and personal power. Hot Vinyasa Flow 90 encourages students to take risks, exceed their own expectations, practice at their personal edge of sukha/stira, or effort and grace, and to be true to their own practice, allowing internal or external judgment to fall away. The result of practicing these elements of Vinyasa Flow yoga 90 will unfold from the mat and into the world, as students begin to tap into their own personal, authentic power, bringing more joy, love, creation, intuition, and full-expression into their lives. This yoga class is accessible to all levels of yogis, as modifications are given for various poses to accommodate both beginner yogis as well as the more advanced yogis. The room is heated to 95 degrees during this vinyasa yoga class.
Vinyasa yoga classes are diverse, focusing on breath work within poses and the connection between them. Vinyasa, a sanskrit word, literally translates as, “to set in a special way or with intention.” In this flowing vinyasa class, an instructor will guide you through sequences while suggesting an intent or focus to help you to connect more personally with the practice. During a 60-90 minute vinyasa yoga class, expect to start off calming the mind and becoming aware of the body. This is followed by sun salutations to build heat. Then each instructor guides the class through a personalized flow, or way of connecting multiple poses. The class ends with a delicious relaxation in savasana, with time to meditate and rest the body. Vinyasa is also translated to “union”. You will discover a unity between mind, body, and spirit to be one of the harmonizing effects of this practice.
